EEA Grants support for strengthening the capacity of the State Revenue Service

Mr. Dairis Aniņš, Head of the Tax and Customs Police Department’s Finance Intelligence Division of the State Revenue Service, informs that the operational and investigative work of the State Revenue Service’s Tax and Customs Police Department will be significantly improved with the support of the EEA Grants. Automated exchange of information with the State Police of Latvia will elevate cooperation to a very different level and provide a broader information approach to the National criminal intelligence model. Combating tax crimes, including envelope wages, will increase budget revenues and foster fair business competition.

The project “Promoting cooperation between law enforcement authorities in preventing and combating economic crime in Latvia” was implemented within the framework of the 2014-2021 EEA Grants Programme “International Police Cooperation and Combating Crime”, operated in Latvia by the Ministry of the Interior.

EEA Grants are Iceland’s, Liechtenstein’s and Norway’s contribution to a greener, more secure, more competitive and inclusive Europe. Latvia is one of the 15 EU countries in Central Europe, Southern Europe and the Baltics that benefits from this support Programme. The aim of the EEA Grants is to reduce economic and social disparities in Europe and to strengthen bilateral relations between Donor States and beneficiary countries.

Working together for a secure and competitive Europe!
