From April 15th to 19th, 2024 forensic experts from the Norwegian National Criminal Investigation Service, KRIPOS, visited the State Forensic Science Bureau. During the visit, Latvian and Norwegian forensic experts are working on implementing new research procedures in the field of color and polymer material analysis and continuing work on creating a database for the analysis of ballpoint pen ink.
This visit is taking place within the framework of the EEA Grants project “Strengthening of the capacity of forensic system and inspection of the site of the event” under the program “International police cooperation and combating crime”.
The total funding for the project “Strengthening of the capacity of forensic system and inspection of the site of the event” is 2,680,000 euros, of which 85% or 2,278,000 euros is funded by the European Economic Area grants, 15% or 402,000 euros is national co-financing, and an additional 171,000 euros is provided by the Norwegian Grant Program Bilateral Cooperation Fund. The project will be implemented until April 30, 2024.
