A seminar for entrepreneurs titled ‘New Functions of the Financial Intelligence Unit – Sanctions Issues’ took place with the support of EEA Grants

To inform entrepreneurs about the practical changes in sanctions enforcement from April 2024, such as which sanctions issues will fall under the supervision of the Financial Intelligence Unit, what information will be available on the sankcijas.fid.gov.lv website, and how to obtain permission to apply exceptions provided for in the sanctions regulations, the Financial Intelligence Unit organized a practical seminar for businesses on March 20, 2024, titled “New Functions of the Financial Intelligence Unit – Sanctions Issues”. The seminar was attended in person by approximately 30 representatives from various businesses, financial institutions, and their associations, while around 320 viewers followed it remotely.

The seminar was organized with the support of an EEA Grants within the framework of the project “Improvement of Employees’ Knowledge in Combating Money Laundering in Latvia” (No. EEZ/FID/2021/6).
