Registration is open for paid classes with transportation compensation

Today, February 19, the Science and Education Innovation Center (ZIIC) of the Liepaja Municipal Education Department announces the application to educational institutions for any of the center’s fee-based classes during the visit period from February 19 to April 19, receiving transportation compensation.

Transportation compensations are covered within the project “Development of Innovation Center in Liepāja city”, with the aim of reimbursing travel expenses, ensuring equal access to all students of Latvian educational institutions and their teachers to learn educational lessons of interest. The transport compensation regulations can be viewed on ZIIC website. The purpose of the classes is to promote the development of knowledge and the students’ career choice in the field of STEM and environmental sciences, providing an opportunity to acquire knowledge related to the learning content and useful in everyday life in a creative, exploratory and interactive way.

Classes are held in all three locations of the Science and Education Innovation Center – Autoru Street 4/6, Nature’s House Zirgu Sala 2 and K. Ukstiņa Street 17/23, Liepāja. Lessons are intended for different age groups, starting from the older preschool group up to the 12th grade.

In the co-production space at Autoru Street 4/6, you are invited to visit:

In the “FabLab” co-creation space at K. Ukstiņa Street 17/23, you can apply for classes:

“Material processing equipment” (grades 3-7)

“Laser cutter” (grades 7-12)

Information to apply for classes:

● Application for learning the program is only done electronically here, by filling out the reservation form.

● Application starts from 19.02.2024. until 19.04.2023, or until all available class times are filled or all available funding is used.

● ZIIC administration will contact the applicants whose application is approved to agree on the date and time of the visit.

Transport compensations are implemented within the project “Development of the Innovation Center in Liepāja”, which is financed by the European Economic Area and the Norwegian grant program “Research and Education”. The total cost of this project is EUR 1,025,341.78, of which EUR 784,386.37 is co-financing from Norwegian grants, EUR 138,421.13 is co-financing from the Latvian state budget, and EUR 102,534.28 is co-financing from the municipality of Liepāja.
