As part of the EEA Grants project No. EEZ/TM/2022/7 “Strengthening of the capacity of forensic system and inspection of the site of the event” the State Police has acquired eight vehicles: four “Peugeot Expert,” four “Renault Traffic,” as well as four trailers designed to transport mobile inspection units to crime scenes.
From now on, forensic experts from the State Police Forensic Department will be able to work more productively outside the laboratory and as close as possible to crime scenes, significantly improving and speeding up the process of collecting evidence and documenting traces necessary for forensic examinations. All eight vehicles are high-clearance vehicles equipped with special internal and external lighting.
Given the specific needs of forensic work, the interiors and cargo compartments of the vehicles have been modified to make the experts’ daily tasks easier. The interiors include work surfaces for filling out documents and packaging evidence, while the cargo compartments are equipped with shelving systems to conveniently store all necessary items. Additionally, there is a retractable tent on the side of the vehicles, allowing forensic experts to process and package evidence even in unfavorable weather conditions.
