EEA and Norway grants financial support helps to increase knowledge and competence of the experts at the State Forensic Science Bureau of the Republic of Latvia

Thanks to EEA and Norwegian grants funding, 35 experts from the State Forensic Science Bureau of the Republic of Latvia expanded their knowledge and increased their competence through participation in 22 events, of which:

• 12 meetings of the working groups of European forensic experts;
• 3 international trainings and seminars;
• 2 Interpol meetings;
• 2 meetings of experts from the Baltic States;
• 2 exchange visits;
• 1 international conference.

The expansion of knowledge and the increasing of competence took place between 2022 and 2023 under the EEA grants programme “International police cooperation and combating crime” project EEZ/TM/2022/7 “Strengthening forensic system and site inspection capacity”. The Ministry of the Interior is the programme operator of this programme.

The project will be implemented by 30 April 2024.
