On March 23, 2023, as the Operator of the Norwegian grant for the Environment and Climate Programme, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (MoEPRD) in collaboration with the Norwegian Environment Agency organized the conference “Together for a Green Growth.” The conference was an important event in the middle of the programme’s implementation, which presented the results already achieved in environmental and climate projects and promoted discussions and exchange of experiences among various organizations.
During the conference, participants could learn about various environmental protection and climate change topics related to implemented education and communication activities. In addition, the youth discussion was particularly important, seeking answers about information availability, human impact on the environment and climate, and how we can all adapt and change our lifestyles to limit this impact.
The event was moderated by Valdis Melderis, who moderated the youth discussion and created a harmonious and flowing event that allows viewers to experience the atmosphere of the conference again through the recording, as well as watch sand artist Gunta Miķelsone’s performance and a musical performance from the Nature Concert Hall.

Along with the conference, Programme operator organised also a photo contest titled “Environment, Climate, and Me.” Contestants submitted many beautiful and impressive photos that showcased the beauty of nature, as well as the human impact on the environment.
Most of the contest photos were taken in Latvia, but there were also submissions from several other countries such as Norway, France, Greece, Venezuela, and Colombia.
The jury had a difficult task of selecting the best works as the submitted photographs were very diverse – ranging from everyday scenes to capturing unique moments and natural landscapes.
