43 applications received in the 3rd round of the competition “Support for the Implementation of Business Ideas in Latgale”

For the 3rd (final) round of the small grant scheme “Support for the Implementation of Business Ideas in Latgale” of the EEA Grant programme 2014-2021 “Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Cultural Cooperation” 43 applications are received.

The aim of the small grant scheme is to support projects that implement a new business idea and create at least one new workplace in the Latgale region. Applicants will be able to receive support for the creation of new products or services, improvement of existing products, significant increase in production capacity or change in production processes, as well as improvement of the efficiency of existing services. Any natural or legal person (small or micro enterprise) carrying out its economic activity in Latgale region could apply for the competition.

The available Programme co-financing for the third call is 402 579,55 EUR, and co-financing amount for one project is from 5 000 to 20 000 EUR. With the support of the EEA Grants, participants in the third-round plan to implement projects in the fields of metalworking, car repair and maintenance, woodworking, textile production, plastics, essential oil production, advertising, healthcare, veterinary services, tourism, catering, entertainment, and recreation.

Third call was open from August 18 to October 24, 2022. Decisions on the approval, conditional approval or rejection of project applications are expected by February 2023, with the first projects indicatively ready for implementation in February-March next year.
