As the new school year begins, the Center for Young Researchers invites students in grades 10-12 to interesting classes at the Science Center VIZIUM in Ventspils, where young people will have the opportunity to supplement their knowledge and gain practical experience by learning the basics of robotics, engineering, electronics and astronomy, thus raising awareness of different STEM domains.
Each lesson will cover a specific topic, be led by experienced scientists, leading researchers from Ventspils University, as well as guest speakers and experts from Latvian Astronomy society, Baldone Observatory, etc. Theoretical and practical lessons will provide a valuable knowledge base and will be useful for young people interested in science, technology, electronics, mathematics, logical thinking and programming.
Topics of lessons of the Centre for New natural Sciences researchers:
Classes will be held every Wednesday from 17.00 to 19.00 between 21 September this year and 24 May 2023 at the Science Centre in VIZIUM, Rupniecibas Street 2. Classes are free for anyone interested! Pupils in grades 8-9 who have an increased interest in natural sciences are also invited to apply.
Classes will take place in Latvian, except for a guest lecture on “the First Instants of the universe”, which will take place in English. At the end of the school year, the participants will be issued certificates.
