The Science and Education Innovation Center invites you to visit Nature’s House

With the arrival of autumn, many are in a hurry to see the changes in nature brought about by this glorious time of the year. The co-creation space of the Science and Education Innovation Center (ZIIC) of the Liepāja City Education Board’s Science and Education Innovation Center “Nature’s House” invites anyone interested to visit during the autumn school holidays, from October 24 to 28, to get to know the existing as well as the new nature knowledge installations free of charge.

From August 2020, the nature house has been actively working on the development of the content of environmental awareness installations and the creation of the installations themselves. A large part of them have already been developed and from the beginning of 2022 they are actively used in the process of implementing the lessons of the interest education programmes “Environmental Management” and “Environmental Management II”. During the lessons, getting to know the interactive installations, the students become interested in the study of natural processes, thereby promoting the development of these skills and a common understanding of environmental conservation.

During the autumn school holidays, visitors are invited to get to know the fascinating side of nature’s diversity and become nature explorers. When entering the House of Nature, everyone has the opportunity to remember the laws of physics and look at the changing processes of nature and even themselves in the diverse kaleidoscope of mirrors, as well as to be surrounded by natural beings in the installation “Nature and biological diversity”, through the world of sound to return to the production process of the company “Liepājas Metalurgs” and gain another exciting experience.

Along with autumn moods, two more new installations enter the Nature House – “Wind station” and “Typical inhabitants of the nature reserve “Lake Liepājas””. The wind station gives visitors the opportunity to “ventilate” in the taste of Liepāja and send your picture to e-mail. On the other hand, in the second installation, a large-format map of Lake Liepāja can be viewed, where through augmented reality it is possible to revive and get to know some of the typical inhabitants of the nature reserve “Lake Liepāja”.

Visiting times:

The visit is free, and in case of a large flow of people, you may have to wait in line. Group visits with more than 10 participants must be pre-registered by calling: 25 728 867 or electronically: dabasmaja@liepaja.edu.lv.
