2021 October 21, the State Education Development Agency (VIAA) met with the European Economic Area (EEA) grant scholarship activity mobility project implementors from higher education institutions in the online seminar to talk about the programme’s legal framework, project implementation conditions, including publicity requirements. The seminar was attended by representatives from Riga Stradiņš University (RSU), Riga Technical University (RTU), Latvian Academy of Culture (LKA) and Ministry of Education and Science (MoES).
Representatives of VIAA informed about the main goals of the programme, introduced the project implementers to the documents applicable during the project implementation, project implementation conditions, reports, as well as the organization of communication and publicity events and activities in accordance with the programme requirements. A total of 246’880 euros has been allocated to four projects until the end of project implementation in 2024. On February 10, 2021, the application for the European Economic Area and Norway Grants (EEA/N) programme “Research and Education” project call in the scholarship activity was announced. Projects can be applied for the mobility of students, academic and administrative staff of an accredited Latvian higher education institution.
The scholarship activity has intended to develop the knowledge, skills and competence of higher education students, academic and administrative staff in the field of research.
The manager of the EEA/N grant programme “Research and Education” is the MoES, which is responsible for the implementation of the programme in Latvia. VIAA, in its turn, as a programme implementer performs project evaluation, implementation monitoring and control. The scholarship activity is funded by European Economic Area (EEA) grants.
