Thanks to the EEA Grants funding, in March and April 2024, one forensic expert had the opportunity to enhance qualifications through an internship at the Estonian Forensic Science Institute. Meanwhile, two other experts were able to participate in the annual meeting of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI) Shoeprint and Toolmark (SPTM) Working Group, as well as in training and crash tests for road traffic accident investigation experts.
The visit was part of the EEA Grants project “Strengthening of the capacity of forensic system and inspection of the site of the event”.
The total funding for the project “Strengthening of the capacity of forensic system and inspection of the site of the event” is €2,680,000, of which 85% (€2,278,000) is funded by EEA Grants, and 15% (€402,000) is covered by national co-financing, complemented by an additional €171,000 from the Norwegian Grants Program Bilateral Cooperation Fund.
The project will be implemented until April 30, 2024.
