A year has passed since Ventspils science center VIZIUM opened its doors to its visitors, so on June 18 everyone is invited to a festive cake, the ingredients of which will be music, technology, science, attractions, creative workshops, games, magic and more! A proper birthday celebration also includes gifts, so a musical gift will be presented to the guests by the musical group “Citi zeni”!
Ventspils science center VIZIUM on June 18 at 11:00 – 15:00 invites city residents and guests to the 1st VIZIUM digital celebration, offering a rich festive programme with various creative, educational, attractive and fun activities that will delight both young and old visitors. The VIZIUM digital festival will take place in front of the science center building and all activities will be free of charge!
Visitors to the VIZIUM digital festival will be offered creative technology workshops of the science center VIZIUM, where they will have the opportunity to participate in robot, Lego, cassette tape winding and self-made boat competitions, as well as work in water surface tension and electricity workshops. On the other hand, the School of Young Physicists will show with various demonstrations that physics is not complicated at all, but can be quite interesting. Retro video games will allow parents to go back to their childhood and show their children what Super Mario is, while the Pogo Stick attraction will test which member of the family has the best sense of balance. The “Stick” attraction and the 3-dimensional swing will also provide fun moments, which will turn the guests’ world upside down! Also, VIZIUM invites visitors to put their hand in creating a large-format holiday cake and climb onto the VIZIUM terrace, where they will have the opportunity to spend time playing large-format games, as well as awaken their musical side in the Drum workshop. We have not forgotten about the smallest visitors to the festival, who will have access to the “Zone of Little Hugs” and face painting. Both big and small participants of the event will be able to feel the adrenaline in the game of Laser Tag, while the inflatable attractions “Minecraft” and “Robots” will definitely bring a smile to the faces of younger visitors.
Visitors to the festival will also be offered a varied stage programme. After a solemn speech by Jānis Vītoliņš, the chairman of the municipal council of the state city of Ventspils, the dance school “KSENIA PATOKINA DANCE” will open the festival with an energetic performance. On the other hand, the “Laboratorium” will surprise with science, chemistry and physics experiments, after which Transformers himself will come to VIZIUM festival guests, who will delight both adults and children with dance and songs! Magical magic tricks will be conjured by illusionist Magic Weiss, but as a holiday cherry on VIZIUM’s birthday cake – the concert of the group “Citi zēni”! Throughout the day, DJ Toms Grēviņš will provide a positive musical performance on stage.
Enjoying such a rich festive programme will require a lot of energy, so it will be possible to buy various snacks during the event!
All activities that will take place at the science center will be free of charge, but it is possible to visit the science center exhibition by purchasing entrance tickets at the science center’s cash desk or on the website. A limited number of visitors can stay in the exhibition hall of the Science Center at the same time, as soon as this is reached, ticket sales are temporarily suspended. We invite visitors to be understanding, as well as to buy tickets in advance on the website, thus reserving a visit time for themselves! A 10% holiday discount will be applied to tickets purchased at the box office on June 18! Discounts are not cumulative.
