Entrepreneurs have the opportunity to implement ideas in the second call of grant scheme projects

On April 1, 2022, Latgale Planning Region has announced the second open grant scheme call for project proposals “Support for the Implementation of Business Ideas in Latgale” of the EEA grant programme 2014-2021 “Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Cultural Cooperation” that gives an opportunity to get support for business development till 2024 by implementing new business ideas and creating new workplaces in the Latgale region.

After the first grant scheme call, which has been closed in September 2021, 9 project contracts have been concluded and at least 9 new workplaces will be created, the range of products will be diversified, new services will be created and existing services will be improved in tourism, IT, catering, timber processing and other industries.

Also during the second call, almost all areas of business will be supported, and any natural and legal person (small or micro-enterprise) that carries out its economic activity in the Latgale region can apply for support. Project applicants will be able to create new products or services, or improve the existing ones, significantly increase their company’s production capacity, or significantly change the production process as well as improve the efficiency of the existing services.

The available Programme co-financing for the second call is 457 625,01 EUR, and co-financing amount for one project is from 5 000 to 10 000 EUR. The aid intensity rate does not exceed 55% of total amount of eligible project expenditures. The above-mentioned support continues the implementation of The Action Plan for Economic Development of Latgale region.
