Educational institutions invited to apply children for free classes about insects in Nature House

From March 17, Liepaja City Education Board Science and Education Innovation Center’s (ZIIC) Nature House invites educational institutions all over Latvia to apply children for free online classes “Insects”. Classes are intended for children from 5 to 6 years of age and 3rd to 6th-grade pupils.

For pre-school groups (5 to 6 years old) the classes will last 20 minutes and teachers apply for them on Mondays and Tuesdays at 9:30, 10:30, 11:30. For 3rd to 6th-grade students, the lesson will last 40 minutes and will take place on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9:20 to 10:00, 10:10 to 10:50, 11:20 to 12:00, and 12:10 to 12:50. The number of children in a class or group will be divided in half, so it is necessary to reserve two lessons for one full class (30 children). Classes for students will start on March 24, and for preschool groups on March 29.

To apply for a lesson, you need to write an application to the e-mail address: dabasmaja@liepaja.edu.lv. The e-mail must include the name of the educational institution, class or name of the group, number of children, teacher, teacher’s telephone number and e-mail to which the organizers will send the Zoom access link. Once the lesson application has been approved, the ZIIC representative will contact each teacher individually by calling the telephone number provided in the e-mail and agreeing on the date, time and other details of the lesson. Reservations will be taken in queuing order.

Classes are created within the framework of the project “Development of the Innovation Center in the City of Liepaja”, which is financed by the European Economic Area and Norwegian grant programme “Research and Education”.
