Liepaja Municipality Education Department’s Science and Education Innovation Center (ZIIC) co-creation place Nature House announces an application to educational institutions for studying interest education programme “Environmental Management II”, which is developed for 11-18-year-old students.
Since the implementation of the project “Development of the Innovation Centre in Liepaja City” is moving towards the final stage, for the last time educational institutions from all over Latvia are invited to apply 5-12 grade students to participate in the interest education program, which is implemented in the ZIIC co-creation place “Nature House”. The program “Environmental Management II” includes four innovative lessons – “Human Internal Organs”, “Biotechnology”, “Exploration of Earth’s Crust” and “Zoology under the Magnifying Glass”.
In the interactive lessons, which will take place in February, March, April and May, students, using the installations and equipment of the Nature House, will get to know the natural sciences, study the diversity of natural processes, understand the need to protect the environment, and also, by conducting theoretical and practical research, get an idea of an ecological lifestyle importance in today’s world.
Each lesson lasts 60 minutes, it is free of charge, and the class is divided in half during the lessons. To complete the program, students must attend all included lessons.
Reimbursement of transport costs is provided to educational institutions. Additional information on the transport compensation regulations is available on the ZIIC website.
Information to apply for classes:
• The application for the program is only available electronically on the ZIIC website, by filling in the reservation form.
• Registration takes place 9.01.2023.-20.01.2023, or until 10 applications have been received (whichever comes first).
• The ZIIC administration will contact applicants whose application has been approved

The interest education program “Environmental Management II” is being implemented within the project “Development of the Innovation Centre in Liepaja City” that is funded by the EEA/N grant programme “Research and Education”. Its total cost is EUR 986 049.00, of which EUR 754 327.40 is co-financing of the Norwegian Financial Instrument, EUR 133 116.60 is co-financed by the State budget of Latvia and EUR 98 605.00 by Liepaja City Municipality.
