Daugavpils Innovation Center invites young people to apply for Makerspace classes

Interested parties can expect a design master class, an idea generation workshop and a series of other exciting lessons, where answers to the questions of what a chemical technologist is, what biomimicry is, how to build a business and whether everyone can be an entrepreneur, what are the possibilities and limits of prototyping equipment are waiting for you. Practical workshops promise to be especially interesting, where you can try your hand at prototyping and constructing robots, work with vacuum forming, and learn more about product and portrait photography and information design.

The classes will be held at the Daugavpils Innovation Center, Vienības Street 30, the classes are free. The number of places is limited, you can apply for several classes and registration is mandatory.

Schedule of the first lessons:

February 10, at 15:30 – Business modeling (BMC)

Perhaps you plan to become an entrepreneur. But what will your business model be? Where will you find your customer and how big will your market be? In this lesson, you will get an insight into how to direct the development of an idea and what the structure of your business model could be.

February 11, at 10:00 – Chemical technologist, who is he?

Chemical technologists represent a wide spectrum of industries. Perhaps you are already a future chemical technologist? In the lesson, we will learn the subtleties, pros and cons of this profession. There will also be experiments!

February 11, at 13:30 – Experience design master class (5E method)

A pleasant experience is one of the prerequisites for the customer to return to you and your service. In this lesson, we will develop ideas – whether existing or brand new – and create an experience design model with the help of the 5E method.

February 11, at 13:30 – Biomimicry as science and business

Biomimicry is the copying of natural processes in scientific fields to find sustainable solutions to human problems. How much inspiration can we thus find through nature? Let’s try to find out together, working on funny and innovative ideas.

The educational programme “Makerspace” is implemented by the European Economic Area and Norway Grants 2014-2021 period programme “Research and education” activities “Innovation centers” project within project “Development of Innovation centre in Daugavpils City”.
