On February 7, the co-creation place Nature House of the Science and Education Innovation Center (ZIIC) of the Liepaja Municipality Education Department announces an application to educational institutions for the acquisition of the interest education programme “Environmental Management II”, which is developed for 11 to 18-year-old students.

The programme combines natural sciences, which also include ecology and environmental science. It introduces knowledge about natural processes, their correlation, living and non-living nature. “Environmental Management II” is developed to stimulate students’ interest in STEM and to provide an in-depth understanding of the need to protect the environment, the importance of an ecological lifestyle, and the vital role of science, education and research in building a successful and healthy society and interspecies communication. One of the main tasks is to develop understanding and interest in hydrobiology, entomology, ecotechnology, botany, ornithology, geography and environmental protection, protected areas, anatomy and geology.

In March, April and May, students will have the opportunity to take part in the “Environmental Management II” programme, which consists of four innovative lessons ‘Human Internal Organs’, ‘Biotechnology’, ‘Exploration of Earth’s Crust’ and ‘Zoology under the Magnifying Glass’. In order to create an understanding of life, ecosystems and processes taking place in nature, studying them both practically and theoretically, installations and interactive methods will be used in the learning process. Each lesson lasts 60 minutes, is free of charge, and the class is divided in half during the lessons. Classes will follow epidemiological rules and the number of sessions is limited. To complete the programme, students must attend all included lessons.

Reimbursement of transport costs is provided to educational institutions. Additional information on the transport compensation regulations is available on the ZIIC website.
