EEA grants Open Call for creation of professional contemporary art and culture products for children and youth receives 29 applications

The goal of this EEA Grants open call is to provide support for the development of cultural and artistic events that improve the accessibility of professional contemporary art and culture to children and youth in all regions of Latvia, and to increase the involvement of children and youth in art and culture.

Latvian organizations that work in culture or the creative industry and had attracted at least one partner from one of the EEA donor countries – Norway, Iceland and Lichtenstein – were elligible to apply for funding in this open call.

The funding available in the first round of the open call is 1 915 412 euro. The funding available for one project is not less than 100 000 euro and not more than 250 000 euro.

With the support of EEA Grants, within the projects new cultural content will be created, as well as regularly available professional contemporary cultural events, which will be organized in cooperation with donor project partners. Activities promoting audience development, which are targeted towards the engagement of the audience and gradual, meaningful interaction of children and youth with diverse cultural events, as well as the development of cultural awareness and expression competences, will also be supported.

The applicants were able to send in their project proposals from March 31, 2021, until July 2. The decision on the approved projects will be made no later than November 2, 2021. The implementation of the first approved projects will begin by the end of this year.
