Recording and presentations from the Scholarships activity launching event are available

At the event, the representatives of higher education institutions were informed about the scholarships activity call, its topicalities, challenges and priorities, preparation of project applications and the submission procedure. Project applications can be submitted in the rsgrants.viaa.gov.lv system until April 12 2021 (at 23:59). The implementation of projects is planned to start in the 3rd quarter of 2021. In the open project call for the EEA/N programme “Research and Education” scholarships activity accredited Latvian universities must involve at least one donor state partner from a Norwegian, Icelandic or Liechtenstein university, as well as Latvian universities, are invited to cooperate with approved Baltic Research Programme projects to promote research projects. Scholarships project applications with such cooperation will increase their chances of receiving the funding. In turn, the project implementers involved in the Baltic Research Programme are invited to combine research and scholarship activities, involving doctoral students, master’s and bachelor’s students in joint research projects.

VIAA competition is organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia (MoES) and the Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Improvement in the field of higher education. Scholarships are one of the activities of the European Economic Area and Norway Grant Programme “Research and Education”, which promotes in-depth, research-based development of higher education and research between Latvian and Norwegian, Icelandic and Liechtenstein donor state universities, reducing economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area. The total funding of the program for the Latvian call is 1,582,866 euros.
